Theni-Allinagaram

Theni is a Business Center in Western Tamil Nadu of southern India. It is the headquarters of Theni District. It is known for the large scale trading of Cardamom, cotton, chilli and textiles. It hosts the second largest weekly market in Tamil Nadu and the fourth largest in South India by turn over. It is well connected by rail and road to Madurai and by road to all the important cities in Tamil Nadu. The nearest airport is at Madurai.

    Ya every things you said are correct. And added some information, before constructing this temple we were went to senthatti ayyanar temple in melanmarai Nadu in Rajapalayam district.As per our past histrory we were moved from melaanmarainadu to allinagaram for job.

    I visited this temple on 8th September, 2018. I tried to trace the history behind this temple. Just about 500metres away the old temple stands amidst numerous houses. On enquiring about the temple from the elders in the village, I came to know that this temple is about 320years old. When i visited the temple, i could feel the history that it holds. Just adjacent to the old temple is a small place where Goddess Seelaikari is there. As per tradition only women can enter the sanctum and i had to stand outside and pray. The new temple is built as an extension of the old temple and is located away from the multitude of houses closer to green fields and a good view of the mountains nearby. The main temple is for Sendhatti Ayyanar and the temple also has Vishwakarma.
